It was opened in 1767 and was in use until 1830. It is popular for its Gothic and Indo-Saracenic style tombs. It is now protected and maintained by the Archaeological Survey Of India. Tourists from the different corners of the world visit this heritage site. The road leading to the cemetery is known as Park Street, famous for pubs and food corners.

Despite attaining recognition of heritage site, it has also illustrated with haunted experiences had been shared by the visitors came here. Some visitors had reported being felt dizziness all of a sudden or falling sick after visiting the place. Some had a complaint about breathlessness, as they had no such problem before their visit. Tourists also had complaints of capturing a weird structure on their cameras.

The busiest station in the city is situated on the Shyama Prasad Mukharjee road. The day hours are full of noises and movements caused by the people, but the night hours after 10, the place has started giving a deserted and scary look, and an eerie feeling has started taking our senses in its control.

 Train drivers and station masters also supported these beliefs from the passengers of the last train. People had heard Spine chilling ghost stories related to the station. They had claimed to see an eerie shadow and obscured images moving and then disappearing in the gust of winds. Passengers also had complained of hearing moaning sounds of children.

The oldest buildings have had a glorious past, but their presence’s dilapidated conditions have given an impression of a haunted one. One such hair-raising story is also got to be associated with the Hastings House. At present, it has taken the shape of a University.

Hasting House was constructed more than 250 years back. It was the residence of the First Governor-General of India, Warren Hastings. The building also had conferred a name Hastings house because of it.

Locals had a belief that Warren Hastings had misplaced his valuables at the time of his departure from India to England. So in search of it, every night, he comes in a chariot led by four horses. Many had claimed to be heard a sound as someone was searching for something.

The second Ghost was believed to be of a boy. He died as the football hit him while playing a game with his friends. Locals had a belief that the boy was seen alone to be standing in the middle of the ground, waiting for his friends.

One of the most renowned places for learning and exploring the world has to be maintained its status in the 250 years old building of the British Era.

National Library in Alipore is another ghostly place in the city of joy, Kolkata. It is to be believed that guards on duty have to carry a Hanuman Chalisa to protect themself against getting under the possession of any restless spirit.

 Many fearsome incidents are there to reflect the spookiness in the national library.

Many had complained of breathing down the neck when they were alone. This thing is generally believed to be faced if you do not place a book properly in its place.

Many readers had also noticed footsteps to be followed near to them, but no one was there to trace.

Not only the visitors but also the librarian too had complained that the chair was being drawn away. It was also a belief that Lady Metcalfe used to visit regularly the premises of this historical place. She was the wife of Governor-General Charles Metcalfe.
